Endorsements to BOP Liability Insurance

Category: Our Blog

Should you purchase a business owners policy (BOP) in California, some liability
insurance most likely will be
included in your coverage. Typically a BOP includes financial protection for
property losses and general liability issues. The liability portion generally
covers bodily injury, property damage and personal injury allegedly caused by
you or your employees, up to the policy limits and subject to your deductible.

Depending on your particular business, you may need other types of
liability insurance.

  • Employee practices liability may provide
financial protection in the event an employee sues you for discrimination
of some kind, such as race, sex or gender.

  • A liquor liability policy may be
necessary should you own an establishment that serves alcohol. This may
offer financial protection in the event one of your customers becomes
intoxicated at your establishment and goes on to cause harm to another
    person or property.

  • An employee benefits liability
endorsement may financially protect you if you are accused of mismanagement
    of your employee benefits package.

  • You may also want to consider an umbrella
liability policy, which can offer financial protection over and above that
of your BOP. Typically the umbrella policy pays for covered losses after
liability limits in your BOP have been reached.
